Welcome to the automatic cross section demonstration.
The automatic cross section feature of SoftPlan uses
the information you created as you drew the floorplan
to automatically generate the detailed cross section
views.
For this demonstration we have generated a cross section
through the building you draw as part of the floorplan
demonstration.
**0000
Notice that SoftPlan has automatically placed all walls which
have been cut, as well as all joists, concrete slabs, and roof
details.
**0001
Now let's zoom in a little closer to see the details
which have been automatically drawn.
**0004
To this drawing we can add as much additional information as
we wish to produce as detailed drawings as we wish.
We will start by adding some dimension lines using the
automatic dimension feature of SoftPlan.
Notice that common reference lines showing top of footing,
and finished wall elevations have been automatically added
to the left of the drawing.
**0002
Notice that the wall
section shows:
- brick
- air gap
- sheeting
- wall stud
- insulation
- interior wall board.
SoftPlan allows to
define the wall con-
struction to meet your
needs, then uses the
information you defined
to create accurate
section views.
**0000
The joist detail shows the joist,
cross bridging, and sub-floor.
SoftPlan provides many options
which allows you to tailor the
construction details to your
needs.
**0001
Notice that even the sill plates
and anchor bolts have been
automatically drawn in the
section view.
**0002
Adding detailed notes to the drawing is
very quick and easy using SoftPlan's
speed note feature.
All we need to do is select the message
from the library and show where to place
it.
Of course any message can be directly
typed in as well!
**0003
Any windows or doors cut by
the section line will appear
in the section view.
**0000
Speed notes can also be use to quickly enter general information
such as room names.
**0000
Symbol libraries can also
be used to add such detail
as columns or other items
which are not automatically
drawn.
